Support

Sometimes you need help, sometimes you want to help. As an open source community project there are ways to do both!

Step 1) Join Our Mailing List

Where can you get involved in the community? Where can you have all your questions answered? The CFEclipse mailing lists are here to help. All you need is an email address!

CFEclipse @ Google Groups

  • Users: This is the main place to ask questions and provide support to people using CFEclipse.
  • Developers: This is for developers that are writing or want to write code for CFEclipse itself.
  • Testers: This is a closed group for people that want to regularly test features of CFEclipse. Joining this group means you want to actively be a tester, so no support questions, but submissions of test results etc.
  • SnipEx: This is a group for developers of SnipEx services. If you like SnipEx and want to talk about how to code it or integrate it, here is the place to go to.

Step 2) Trac / WIKI

Trac is a web-based software project management and bug/issue tracking system emphasizing ease of use and low ceremony. It provides an interface to the Subversion revision control systems, integrated Wiki and convenient report facilities.

You can access the CFEclipse Trac website at http://trac.cfeclipse.org. Think you have spotted a bug or have an idea for a new feature? The CFEclipse team use Trac to manage versions and issues. You can search if there is already a bug logged that matches yours by searching in Trac or add a new issue (remember to register first!)

Reporting Bugs

Once you have registered with the CFEclipse Trac you can submit a new ticket.

When submitting a ticket for your bug, please do a search in the existing tickets to see if someone else has already reported it!

For installation issues and other general problems please post an email to the mailing list first!

When submitting a bug or if you email the mailing list with an issue, please provide as much information as possible:

  • Eclipse version: Help > About Eclipse SDK
  • CFEclipse version: Help > About Eclipse SDK > Plug-in Details
  • Java version: From a command line type "java -version"
  • Operating System: Windows? OSX? Linux?
  • Error log information
